We talked about the reboot of Leisure Suit Larry a while ago now, where creator Al Lowe rescued the license from Big Software, which meant they were free to do whatever they wanted. But now, Lowe is asking for support through a project called "Make Leisure Suit Larry come again!"
He's asking for $500,000 for a brand new LSL-themed game, starring the original, loveable Larry. They want to remake the original Larry game, In The Land Of The Lounge Lizards, but they want to make it without publishers, and hopefully, on a higher budget. It's a bit weird that someone like Lowe would need to reach out for cash, I'm guessing he'd be cashed up from the successful range of LSL games, but maybe not.
It doesn't matter though, because all of the old school PC gaming franchises are seeing a resurgence through Kickstarter and I'm loving it. Leisure Suit Larry was one of my favorite games, and I can't wait to see what it turns into over the next twelve months.
