Swype being eyed at for $100+ million, Nuance swypes their hands together with glee
Nuance looking at acquiring Swype for $100+ million
A source with knowledge close to the deal is claiming that Nuance has scooped up Seattle-based Swype for $100+ million. Swype is an amazing application and would be a great addition to Nuance's lineup. Swype first launched at a TechCrunch conference back in 2008 and is software for mobile devices which helps people input text far quicker than normal typing. It will soon be on over one hundred million devices.

Nuance already owns T9, which if you didn't know is a predictive text application which first popped up in the 90s and directly competes with Swype. Co-founder of Swype, Cliff Kushler, also founded T9 funnily enough. This acquisition should let Swype expand a fair bit, with the power of Nuance behind them, who knows where they'll Swype to next.
