PAX 2011 - NVIDIA had a great chat with DICE Producer, Patrick Liu at PAX last month and they went over some of the technical bits of Battlefield 3 and what fans about expect from the PC version. Of course DirectX 11 was bought up and then onto the tasty subjects of tessellation, compute shaders and displacement mapping being key points of the discussion. The video can be found below:
Apart from that, we have Day 1, 2 and 3 wrap-ups from NVIDIA @ PAX 2011 with the Battlefield 3 competitions being quite close. The first 2 days the games came down to 1 kill (99 versus 100 and 98 versus 99). Winners walked away with ASUS Transformers for first prize and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 for second place. I would settle with just being able to play Battlefield 3!
