Crucial m4 SSD receives new firmware, also performance increase.
Crucial have released a new firmware revision for their m4 SSD, version 0009. It is for the 64, 128, 256 and 512GB flavors of m4 SSDs and you can grab it here. The new firmware includes performance increases of which Crucial say are 20% faster for sequential read speeds, throughput is up and according to the official release notes, you can expect quicker boot times and lower write latencies.

0009 firmware will also improve the m4 SSD's PCMark Vantage score if that tickles your fancy. The new firmware also addresses issues with chipset compatibility and a bug that caused teh drive to fail intermittently on a cold boot. Although those problems didn't affect everyone, it's good to see Crucial on top of things.
