Think your 8mp camera on your cell phone camera is awesome? It's old tech now. Sony Ericsson has announced the first phone sporting a 16.4mp sensor: the Cyber-shot S006.

Set to hit Japan in the spring, this smartphone is based around the popular 1 GHz Snapdragon processor with a 3.3 inch screen with the requisite built-in WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS. The uber-camera also has ISO settings of up to 12800 for fast moving shots. Sony's OS will be installed on the phone which will be exclusive to KDDI, one of Japan's big cell phone providers. Here's to hoping it hits phones the rest of the world can get their hands on soon.
