Patriot Memory is a name well known to most computer enthusiasts. The company makes some popular RAM and a line of SSDs that have good performance. The company also has all sorts of other products for storing data as well. The latest product to surface form the company is the Convoy series of RAID enclosures that are designed to fit inside a 5.25-inch drive bay on your desktop computer.

The enclosures have four drive bays that are hot swappable and work with any 2.5-inch HDD or SSD that is 12.5mm or under in thickness. Patriot has two products in the Convoy series with the Convoy 425S and the 425XL. Both have aluminum chassis and a pair of 40mm fans to keep the drives cool when in use.

The only difference between the two products is that the 425XL has support for RAID built in. The user can flip a switch on the back of the Convoy chassis to choose between hardware RAID 0/1/3/5/10 JBOD settings. Both of the Convoy products have a 2-year warranty. Patriot claims that the XL version with the Inferno SSDs inside the drive bays was able to hit 240,000 IOPS in testing.
