The Inquirer are running a story which suggests VIA will hold off on the release of their KT400 chipset till later in the year until the AMD K8 processor is in full circulation. A wise move I'd say considering the AMD Hammer processor can actually make use of the power of a 400MHz DDR chipset like the KT400, unlike the current Athlon processors.

SYSTEM BUILDERS attending a Gartner summit in Monaco earlier this week went to a Via presentation where they were told the firm would introduce three chipsets for AMD's Hammer microprocessors.
A system builder said Via told him and a group of other integrators that one of these, called the K8UMA, would use integrated Zoetrope graphics with 800MHz Hypertransport links, while another Via K8 chipset would provide similar functionality but without the integrated graphics.
