One of the most popular brands in the camera industry is Canon. The company has cameras for all sorts of needs from the professional photographer down to the kid looking for their first camera. Canon has unveiled a new camera today called the SX30 IS that is the world's first wide-angle 35x zoom digital camera.
The camera can record HD video in 720p resolution using the entire 35x zoom range of the lens. The sensor of the camera is a 14.1MP unit and the camera uses the Canon Digic 4 image processor. The rear LCD screen of the camera is a 2.7-inch unit that has a variable angle making it easier to shoot photos using Live View.
The camera will get power from an internal rechargeable battery rather than AA batteries that are common in the PowerShot series. The focal range of the camera is equivalent to 24mm to 840mm. The lens also has image stabilization, which is necessary with such a huge zoom range. The camera also has a zoom range function that allows the users to zoom out to find the subject and then zoom back in for the shot. The SX30 IS will ship this month for $429.99.
