HP has had its sweet Envy notebooks on the market for a while now. The machines are known for their thin profiles, performance, and good looks. HP has now announced that it has a new Envy 17 model coming in time for the holidays called the Envy 17 3D. You can guess by the name of the new machine what the big feature is.
The Envy 17 3D has a 17.3-inch full HD Ultra BrightView screen that supports 1080p resolution and 3D content. The notebook uses HP active 3D glasses, which are included with the notebook. The machine will also come with select 3D content installed already. The Envy 17 3D also supports 3D Blu-ray films, which should be on the market before we know it.
The notebook has an etched and brushed aluminum exterior and can be fitted with a wide array of hardware options. The options include quad core Intel Core i7 CPUs, ATI HD 5850 graphics, and up to 2TB of storage. HP will offer pricing information closer to the launch, but his will be an expensive rig. The plain Envy 17 starts at about $1400.
