Apple's annual special event coming September 1st |

Apple's yearly September "special event" is slated for September 1st, and the rumor mills are abuzz over what they have in store for us. A new iPod Touch, cloud-based iTunes, and Apple TV are among the most kicked around ideas with a new Macbook Air and TV show rentals in the less-likely barrel of rumors.

Apple TV would be an interesting unveiling considering the recent announcement of Google TV in May; letting the two mobile bigshots compete on yet another front. Considering all of the leaks on the new iPod Touch, this seems the most likely gadget to see the light of day in San Francisco on the first, but we never know what Steve Jobs has up his sleeve.

Nothing exciting to see here.
