Virus Warning!!!

Virus Warning!!! news post from TweakTown's online news computing and technology content pages
By: Jon Albiez | Posted: Apr 28, 2002 7:56 am

To all our readers,

Recently there has been an alarming increase in the number of viruses sent to my email account here at TweakTown. Although my system is not infected, my Anti-Virus is going ballistic with warnings and statements "Virus Successfully Removed".

Apart from the usual spam, news and reader feedback, I usually receive about 1 in 15 emails that is infected. Over the past two weeks, however, it has risen to one in every two!!! The main culprits are Klez.H, FBound.C, Klez.E, Badtrans.B, MyLife.J, Sircam, and Nimda.A.

So this is an appeal to all readers - PLEASE UPDATE YOUR ANTI-VIRUS DEFINITIONS!!!

Sorry to yell at you all :p , but this is an issue that needs to be dealt with, as some of these nasty little "programs" can be very destructive indeed, up to the point of damaging your computer hardware. Here are some Vendor's websites:

Norman Virus Control: (What I use - highly recommended)

Symantec Norton Anti-Virus:

VET Anti-Virus:
