Android 2.2 "Froyo" released to developers

It looks like the countdown to Froyo has officially begun. The Android Developers site has released the Android 2.2 "Froyo" platform source code today for developers to start tinkering with on their mobile devices. This is a good sign that shows that the update to the Android OS is ready for public consumption as the SDK will be able to be modified, played with, and optimized for the many handset that we are hoping to see it hit upon official release.
