Intel to shave big dollars off LGA1366 Core i7 950
Effective August 29.
Intel is looking to go more aggressive with pricing on its LGA1366 Core i7 family which is said to go into effect on August 29 this year.
The biggest drop will be seen with the Core i7 950, a 3.06GHz quad-core chip which will cost you well over $500 U.S. at the moment. Intel is shaving a huge amount off this one, setting the mark at $294 and displacing the Core i7 930 2.8GHz variant.
This graph from the folks over at HKEPC also shows a new SKU in the Core i3 500 series, the Core i3 560. This is a dual core 3.33GHz variant and will be priced at $138.
