AMD's 890GX chipset finally makes its debut
Today sees the birth of 890GX, AMD's new motherboard chipset which gives the latest in technologies such as native SATA 3.0 support (via the SB850 Southbridge), all PCI-e 2.0 lanes, Radeon HD 4290 DX10.1 IGP and support for AMD's upcoming six-core processors.
The first example of many more 890GX based boards to come entered our labs a short time ago and we now have our review online in the form of the ASUS M4A89GTD Pro/USB3 where we look at both its IGP and discrete graphics performance, overall chipset performance, feature set and compare to Intel's mid-level H57 platform.
