I-O Data introduces external x8 Blu-ray writer
Based off LG/Hitachi's BH10N.
A company by the name of I-O Data based out of Japan has just introduced its new BRD-UH8LE external Blu-ray writer to market with support for BD-R write speeds up to 8x.

The unit is based off LG/Hitachi's own BH10N drive and uses an external enclosure with dimensions of 166 (W) x 240 (D) x 60.5 (H) mm and has a weight of 2.3KG.

The unit includes 4GB of buffer memory and supports the following formats :-
8x BD-R, 6x for BD-R LTH, 2x for BD-RE, 16x for DVD-R/+R SL, 12x for DVD-RAM, 8x for DVD-R/+R DL and DVD+RW, 6x for DVD-RW, 48x for CD-R and 24x for CD-RW
The drive comes with a one year warranty and will set you back about $267.
