MSI has been making notebooks for a long time now, but most of us know them more for the Wind line of netbooks than anything else. MSI makes all sorts of full-size notebooks too and the company has debuted a pair of machines that are almost identical.

The new notebooks are the CX420 and the CR420 and the only difference is that where the lower-end CR420 gets Intel GMA HD graphics only, the CX420 gets the Intel GMA HD GPU along with an ATI HD5470 GPU. The CX420 can change between the two GPUs depending on the needs of the user.

Common features of the two machines include a 14-inch LED backlit LCD with a resolution of 1366 x 768. The machines use Windows 7 Home Premium and will have one of the new 2010 Core processors from Intel. Storage is up to 500GB and the machines can have up to 4GB of RAM. Other features include HDMI out, webcam, and a 6-cell battery along with WiFi.
