Well folks, just got off a 9 hour flight from Bangkok and I must say, I am buggered. Thailand was nice, most of the locals are friendly and a lot of fun can be had for no more than a few dollars per day. One word of warning to anyone looking to go there though. The women can tear your heart out, not to mention spend a heap of your cash. You walk into a bar, or even outside a bar, and you get swamped by aid infested Thai prostitutes, begging you to come in and have a drink with them. More often than not, they even grab you and try to drag you in there themselves. Once you go into the bar to check things out, one of the girls jumps on your lap and orders the most expensive champagne available. Nothing you can do about it. The worst part is, it is impossible to tell if the "girl" sitting on your lap is female or not. I guess that sort of thing is to be expected, seeing as though Thailand is the sex change capital of the world.
One thing worth mentioning is that in Bangkok, there is a 5 story shopping center called Panthip Plaza. This place is full of the latest computer hardware and accessories, I couldn't believe my eyes when I walked in there and saw it all. What's even better is that the hardware is quite a bit cheaper than in Australia. If you are planning a trip to Thailand, make sure this is one of the places you go.
This holiday truly opened my eyes as to how much of a geek I really am. Out of the 15 days I was away, I went to an internet cafe at least 11 times. [insert "You know your a geek when...." joke here]
To cut a long story short, i'm back, and you can look forward to a couple of reviews from me in the near future.
