More Gulftown information pops up

Some new stuff, most old

New information has hit the internet this morning about the upcoming 6-core 32nm monster from Intel. I am talking about the CPU named Gulftown.

This new CPU has been rumored to be the first of the Core i9 series before and now that seems to be the actual case. The Gulftown will be run on Intel's 32nm HKMG process, it will have six cores, feature a triple channel memory controller (supports up to DDR3-1066). HyperThreading support will allow for 12 threads to be processed simultaneously.

Gulftown will only be an Extreme Edition CPU for a while, but this is not surprising as it will be the top end of the 1366 CPUs. This means that pricing will probably run over $1,000 USD, although no official pricing is available yet.

You can expect the new Core i9 to hit some time in Q2 2010
