The gang over at iTech News Net is showing off an interesting piece of hardware. This is the General Dynamics Itronix GD8000.

This new rugged notebook is something else; it is made of a polycarbonate casing a Magnesium Chassis and conforms to MIL-STD-810.

The GD8000 has some nice hardware under the hood too with a Core 2 Duo SL9400, 4GB of RAM, integrated 4500MHD graphics and 120GB hard drive.

you also get a 13.3-inch touchscreen display that can be read even in sunlight, an integrated GPS, WiFi, fingerprint reader, smartcard reader and built in cellular wireless card.

I think I just found the next laptop I want to take camping.
