Pretec announced the 666x Compact Flash card, which they are touting as the fastest CF card in the world.
The new 666X boasts 100MB/s. Pretec didn't say whether this was for reads or wrties, but given that writing to flash is generally slower than reading, we are assuming this is for read operations.
Pretec will sell the drive in various sizes ranging from 4GB to 64GB. There is no word on retail price or availability, but Pretec did say they will be sampling the the CF card in April. Pretec also holds the record for the world's largest CF card, which is 100GB.
, Pretec 666X CF card provides extensive ruggedness making the card resistant to impact & shock - at least 10 times more durable than a typical CF card, and enables photographers to make the best use of rapid capture of high resolution pictures in the studio, streets or elsewhere with confidence and piece of mind even under the most severe conditions.
