Microsoft Dumps all of its Comcast Stock

More money to buy Yahoo?

Microsoft dumped all of its Comcast shares, 7.3 Percent of the company, according to Sylvie Barak and an SEC filing.


Although no one is completely certain why this happened speculation seem to circle around MS gathering cash for another go at Yahoo, or to make up for other bad investments.


Personally I think they dumped it because of all the trouble Comcast is facing with the US FCC, that and the fact that they really are a horrible company to deal with.

The Redmond giant had owned 150,935,575 shares in the firm, after making an initial $1 billion investment in Comcast in June 1997. Mighty-Soft had also owned 21.6 million shares of Comcast's Special Class A shares.


Comcast has actually done a fair bit better than its competitors throughout the credit crunch, with its shares only falling 15.7 per cent in the last year, compared to the 39.6 per cent average.
