Pictures of the Alpha versions for the next Office suite have found their way on to the Internet. Thanks to TechConnect Magazine we can all gaze in wonder at what will become Office 2009.

The new Office suite is not going to be as drastic a change as 2007 was. But it does look like MS is keeping the Ribbon idea. Personally I found Office 07 to be more functional and to have a better flow to it but not many people felt that way.

No word on how it performs at this early Alpha stage (not to mention any performance information would undoubtedly change) but in the looks department is should be an improvement over the existing 07 suite

It doesn't look as though Microsoft have stripped the top end again this time as with 2007, which upset many consumers and caused rather a lot of negative feedback. Nonetheless, Microsoft have not reverted their "ribbon" ideals either, and it looks as though they have stood by their new trend with Office 14 (which, based on the 2009 target release date, it could become Office 2009).
