Simpsons poke fun at Apple

Or should I say Mapple
By: Sean Kalinich | Posted: Dec 1, 2008 11:54 am

In what will be the last of the anti-Apple news (for today anyway) we find a funny article over at engadget.

The gang over at Engadget have posted up clips of The Simpsons recent go at Apple. While the animated series has never seemed squeamish about mocking popular figures (and have poked at apple before) this time they seem to really focus on the company and its fans base.

Simpsons poke fun at Apple

Few have been spared the satire of Matt Groening's long running animated sitcom. Last night, The Simpsons took on Apple, or uh, Mapple for a full 6 minutes of lampoonery -- a pretty harsh ride at a two-joke per minute pace. It all starts when the Springfield mall gets its very own Mapple store, "it's so sterile," gasps Lisa upon entering. Perhaps the best exchange comes from Bart's dubbing of a Steve Mobs' product announcement in front of a crowd of gaping nerds.
