Intel has just unveiled its new "USAI" narrative, underscoring its US manufacturing prowess, in perfect timing almost inside 24 hours of Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan meeting with President Trump at the White House.
Intel has unveiled its new USAI campaign, which has appeared on a bus stop stating "Built for the mission. Backed by Trust. That's the power of Intel Inside". The poster continues, saying with "five decades of US-based manufacturing and ready-to-deploy AI solutions, Intel is a proven partner to help the public sector implement AI security and at scale".
Intel has a USAI website live, explaining its new USAI narrative that shows Intel's commitment to not just the US public sector, but also partnerships with the government and military. Intel explains: "At Intel, we know the future belongs to those who build it right. And it starts right here at home-in the USA. For over five decades, we've been the only U.S.-based company committed to advanced manufacturing on American soil to produce the world's most cutting-edge chips".
Intel's declaration of innovation on its USAI website says: "Ours is a story shaped by turning possibilities into progress and progress into purpose. And now, we are living through the latest chapter in American ingenuity: the age of AI. But let's face it: AI raises tough questions about ethics and implementation. Especially where it matters most-in the hands of the people serving the public good".
"You need solutions that are accessible-and accountable. Powerful-and practical. Seamless-and secure. With safeguards and privacy engineered into every processor. With supply chains that are sustainable, scalable, and resilient. With infrastructure that helps fortify our economy, workforce, and national interests. At Intel, we know the future belongs to those who build it right. And it starts right here at home-in the USA".
"For over five decades, we've been the only U.S.-based company committed to advanced manufacturing on American soil to produce the world's most cutting-edge chips. Developing secure AI for today-and tomorrow-demands purpose, partnership, and people at the core. So let's work together-to innovate and accelerate the missions that matter most with the unstoppable power of Intel Inside".
Intel recently announced plans to develop AI agents for the US military while working with EdgeRunner AI to make on-device AI for the frontline. The official EdgeRunner AI account on X posted, saying: "we're building AI agents for the US military. In partnership with Intel, we're deploying our technology for the warfighter on Intel chips air-gapped, on-device, without requiring an internet connection".
We are to expect some major announcements regarding the US semiconductor manufacturing industry and Intel from President Trump next week, where we should start to see the (hopefully) decades-long plan to -- pun intended -- Make Intel Great Again.
In recent news, Apple announced another $100 billion towards US manufacturing, with a total of $600 billion for manufacturing on American soil, on top of launching its new American Manufacturing Program. Chips made on American soil are something Intel is definitely capable of doing, but with recent issues with next-gen Intel 18A process nodes (chips made at Intel's US fabs), it's not looking good.
A new long-term plan in collaboration with the US government makes sense, as President Trump will want to use Intel's future semiconductor prowess to have as many made in America chips as possible. Intel and Apple both have their respective chips made at TSMC in Taiwan, but bringing that onto American soil and creating thousands of jobs in the process that has been going on for years now, and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.
