Firmly sticking to their plan of a driver a month, AMD has just taken the Catalyst driver suite for Radeon graphics cards to 8.9.
As with last months 8.8 Catalysts, the release highlights don't point out any performance gains this time either. But there are a few other minor changes such as Overdrive support for Quad CrossfireX configs and the first phase of OpenGL 3.0 support. Not to mention there's a massive list of bug fixes for both the latest and quite a few older game titles.
If you'd like to see how the latest suite compares to last months driver before making the effort to update, our latest driver analysis article is now online.
