It would not be a normal day without ASUS launching a few new products and one of them today is the rather attractive looking LS221H widescreen LCD.

ASUS out with world's thinnest 22-inch widescreen LCD

It is a 22-inch monitor capable of a resolution of 1680x1050 WSXGA+ which ASUS is claiming is the world's thinnest with the bezel measuring just 45mm thick. It's no OLED monitor which when they start hitting retail will have a bezel thickness of around 10mm but this is nevertheless quite impressive. It also features diamond cut corners and glass edges fused with a glossy black piano finish and the bottom front of the monitor also gets a layer of genuine leather.

The LS221H gets ASUS Smart Contrast Ratio (ASCR) 4000:1 technology and a low two-millisecond response time. You not only get DVI input but also HDMI 1.2.

As far as pricing goes, you will be able to pick up one of these monitors in Australia now for the RRP of $599 AUD inc GST - that works out to be around $518 USD at today's exchange rate.

You can find more details over at the press release, which is here.
