Swiss PC cooling specialist Arctic Cooling has just announced a new member to its highly popular Accelero Series of replacement cooling for graphics cards.

The new TWIN TURBO brings compatibility for the new ATI Radeon HD 4850/4870 graphics cards as well as NVIDIA's GeForce 9600GT/8800GT offerings and many others. Two whisper quiet 80mm PWM fans (connected to the VGA's existing fan header) are used on top of a large heatsink comprising four heat-pipes and 30 aluminum fins.

As a benchmark of its performance, Arctic Cooling state that a 34c drop in temperature can be seen when using the TWIN TURBO on a 9600GT that was previously running the reference cooler.

ASUS is clearly taking no chances with its Eee PC range. The ASUS Eee portfolio has been attracting and lapping up a great deal of media coverage recently, whilst ASUS can hardly be accused of storing all its eggs in one basket.

Spreading the Eee brand thinly appears to be at the forefront of the ASUS strategy, as details of how the upcoming Eee PC 904 HD is set to differentiate from its peers, are the topic of this report from Electronista.

Diamond Multimedia, purveyor of the HD 4870 XOC Black Edition SKU that has been the talking point of many HD 4800 series enthusiasts in recent days, is stepping up to the challenge of making the product available in the retail channel, according to a report from TechConnect Magazine.

Initially, highlighted as being exclusively available through system integrator, Smooth Creations, Diamond has perhaps been encouraged by widespread positive coverage and decided to open the floodgates, filter the HD 4870 XOC Black Edition through retail channels and thereby, quench enthusiasts' thirst.

Whilst pricing is not known at the time of going to press, cards could be available as early as next week.

As reported by TG Daily, AMD is determined to up the ante even further, by capitalizing on the multifaceted attack it has launched against NVIDIA's GTX 260 and GTX 280 solutions.

Reports indicate that AMD is currently binning GPUs on the basis of achieving a satisfactory yield and level of performance, yet, the knowledge that the RV770 is capable of so much more, has fuelled the company to develop a 'derivative' of the RV770, known as the 'SuperRV770'.

The 'SuperRV770' will be an AIB/OEM exclusive, featuring a water cooling solution and boasting an unlocked BIOS, offering the tantalizing ability to overclock the GPU up to a, heady, 950 MHz. The GDDR5 memory won't be left out of the equation either, as it will be given a chance to polish its shine, with speeds of up to 1.2 GHz (QDR).
