OCZ put big pressure on SSD market
While it's taken quite a while to start seeing any form of significant decrease in the cost of owning a solid-state HDD, more so just recently we've begun to see them slide down towards the real world. One of the first signs of this came in the form of Super Talent's new MasterDrive MX SSDs, which had the top model (a 120GB variant) sitting at $699.
OCZ has now stepped in with the Core Series 2.5" SSDs which boast even more aggressive pricing with a 128GB model sitting at just $479. Other drives in the lineup include a 32GB model at $169 and 64GB at $259. Read below for OCZ's promised performance figures :-
Core series SSD drives are available in capacities of 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB and deliver incredible 120-143 MB/s 80-93 MB/s read/write speeds and seek times of less than 0.35ms, making the Core series up to 10x as fast on a seek-time basis and up to 40% faster on a R/W basis that the best performing 2.5" HDDs on the market, all while consuming 50% less power. MSRPs at time of launch are USD $169, $259 and $479 for 32GB, 64GB and 128GB models respectively.

AMD turbo-charges RV770 GPU against NVIDIA
As reported by TG Daily, AMD is determined to up the ante even further, by capitalizing on the multifaceted attack it has launched against NVIDIA's GTX 260 and GTX 280 solutions.
Reports indicate that AMD is currently binning GPUs on the basis of achieving a satisfactory yield and level of performance, yet, the knowledge that the RV770 is capable of so much more, has fuelled the company to develop a 'derivative' of the RV770, known as the 'SuperRV770'.
The 'SuperRV770' will be an AIB/OEM exclusive, featuring a water cooling solution and boasting an unlocked BIOS, offering the tantalizing ability to overclock the GPU up to a, heady, 950 MHz. The GDDR5 memory won't be left out of the equation either, as it will be given a chance to polish its shine, with speeds of up to 1.2 GHz (QDR).

AMD steps up enthusiast game against Intel, NVIDIA
TG Daily, features an account of AMD's fight to make leaps and bounds in the enthusiast sector of the market.
Sunnyvale, CA based AMD's CPU offerings, have been lagging behind Intel's Core 2 processor family which, literally, has been obliterating offerings from AMD in sheer performance stakes. With Intel in their target and by launching, what they deem as highly overclockable, yet affordable CPUs, AMD aims to match, if not exceed, their successes against NVIDIA.
On the GPU battlefield, AMD's turnaround in late 2007, with the HD 3800 series, marked the turning of the tide in price to performance ratios and this, has been heightened with the recent launch of the RV770 GPU, which has taken birth as the HD 4800 series.

X-Fi branding morphs into ZEN MP3 player line-up
epiZENter, a fan site for Creative Labs MP3 Players, has revealed images and details of Creative's X-Fi branding, amalgamating into its ZEN line of MP3 players.
The Creative ZEN X-Fi, by accounts, perhaps leaves innovation fighting for a back seat and isn't, necessarily, a revolutionary step upwards from Creative's current ZEN line-up.
However, peering beneath the surface, Creative's X-Fi branding contributes more than just its name, by adding Crystallizer and Expand effects to the mix.

PhysX on NVIDIA only? - Not anymore!
One of the big marketing points in reference to NVIDIA's latest GT200 Series graphics cards is the embedded PhysX support, enabled by means of a recent ForceWare driver update.
It has been assumed for a while now that the advancement of PhysX support on graphics cards was primarily at the hardware/technology level, with corrosponding drivers to make use of it; however, Eran Badit of NGOHQ heavily indicates this is most definitely not the case.
