OCZ gaming keyboards, mice and mouse pad out soon
COMPUTEX TAIPEI 2008 OCZ is first and foremost a memory maker but these days the company is much more.
We are pushed for time at this moment after a crazy Day 0 but OCZ will soon push out anew line of gaming peripheral products including three keyboards, one mouse and a mouse pad. We're not sure if the mouse pad will be sold separately but it will be bundled with OCZ's range of new high-end upcoming gaming notebooks that we'll get a look at a little later - they use DDR3 memory, so we are limited in what can be said at the moment.
For now, feast your eyes over the following shots - OCZ has taken aim for companies like Logitech and SteelSeries with these products and from what we saw from our brief time with the products, they should do rather well. We'll reserve our full judgments for when we get them in for testing.

Patriot shows off its 256GB SSD drive - out soon
COMPUTEX TAIPEI 2008 Among its DDR3-2000 memory running at CL9, Patriot showed off its SATA-II 256GB SSD drive at its booth today out in Nangang. Here is a shot of it for all of you.
The friendly folks we talked to were hush hush on pricing but said they expected it to be on sale by July. It's going to set you back quite a few pennies, so start saving them. Patriot claim incredible read and write speeds but since we spoke to them today (Day 0), the live demo was not up and running when we visited them.

OCZ shows us its upcoming Fortress pen drive
COMPUTEX TAIPEI 2008 While we visited Alex and Jessica at their suite at Computex this afternoon, we got a look at a company that is obviously busier than ever.
First up we get an exclusive look at OCZ's soon to be released Fortress pen drive - it will go head to head with Corsair's Survivor pen drive for toughness and durability. Some folks have done such extreme things as running Corsair's pen drive over in an army tank.

NVIDIA Tegra Press Conference launch coverage
COMPUTEX TAIPEI 2008 While many of the major players are still hard at work setting up their booths in the numerous halls, NVIDIA has already started putting on a show. Day 0 has given us a few glimpses of some new products based on the NVIDIA Tegra technology.
Designed for ultra compact laptops as well as UMPC's, phones and various other media devices, NVIDIA calls this new technology the visual computing era. Tegra is a new all in one solution, SOC, PC on a chip, whatever you want to call it, NVIDIA's Tegra is able to do it, and at 1-watt power usage - that's impressive to say the least.

Zotac show us gear early - Display Port 9600GT etc
COMPUTEX TAIPEI 2008 While at the Nangang tradeshow hall we visit Zotac for a look at their new and shiny products. On offer this year we see a GeForce 9800GTX Zone Edition with water cooling as standard. Touting 22degC cooler running, silence and a shocking 5 year warranty which will go active in Australia from sometime next month. The price premium for this product will be $50 USD, so it is rather reasonable considering what you get.
Also on show is a GeForce 9600GT DP with Display Port as standard which is good timing as more monitor manufacturers are announcing this new display technology on their screens. The big noise about this is that we have been told display port works under Windows XP as well as Vista making it accessible to all.

Dear all - Stop crying about Nangang hall distance
COMPUTEX TAIPEI 2008 Taitra, the organizers of Computex Taipei 2008, coped a lot of flack about its new Nangang show hall.
In the lead up to the show, we heard nothing but people complaining that the show would be a disaster because of the travelling between halls. While we agree it is a bit of an inconvenience, but we don't think it is that bad as everyone is making out. Here's why.

Take a close look at Computex pre-show setup
COMPUTEX TAIPEI 2008 We take the opportunity to walk th-floor pre-show and snap a few cheeky photos.
As you can see it's about 20 hours until C-Day and the floor is a huge mess of scrap and builders everywhere. It's certainly a different sight to the clean and busy pictures we see of shows during full swing.

Enermax has 82+ PSU on display powering 16 HDDs
COMPUTEX TAIPEI 2008 We have just had our first look at the Computex halls and as we stepped in the door of Hall 1 we noticed that Enermax had most of their booth ready with products on display.
Enermax was pushing its line of 82+ power supplies and one 625-watt model was powering a server based system that you would normally think you would need a 1000+ watt PSU to operate.
