Obama appoints third RIAA lawyer to the US DOJ
Well, it looks like President Obama has appointed another RIAA sock puppet to the US Department of Justice.
During the presidential race concerns were raised that Joe Biden (Now US Vice President) was very much in the pocket of the MPAA and the RIAA. It seems those concerns are now bearing fruit.
The latest appointment is Donald Verrilli who is the leach, um I mean lawyer that helped RIAA win $220,000 from a single mother. He will be given the post of Associate Deputy Attorney General. Verrilli's other accomplishments include pulling the plug on Grokster and suing Google on behalf of Viacom.

Time Warner to expand bandwidth caps
Time Warner (the third largest ISP in the US) is looking to become the first major ISP to impose billable usage caps.
After what Time Warner is calling a successful test in Beaumont, TX Time Warner is now looking to expand this new cap to other areas. Alex Dudley, a Time Warner Spokes Person said "It's clear to us that customers want online video, which requires substantial investment in the network. We're willing to make that, and we're trying to find an equitable way to distribute the cost of that investment."
The problem is that the people that experienced the cap were not happy at all about it. Time Warner put a 5 Gigabyte cap on their $30 service, any bandwidth used over that was billed at $1 per Gigabyte. I am not sure where Time Warner got the 5GB limit as just downloading the latest BETA of windows 7 would put you at your limit.

Google sets up Internet Bus in India
It looks like the team at India who promote Google did a few lines of pure columbian Yayo before a brain storming session one night. Because if you look at what's been created, it's surely the only thing that can explain it!
Say hello to the Google Internet Bus, essentially a mobile internet cafe with super fast internet inside. The main reason for setting this up is to better educate the poor people in India who may not have even heard of the internet before, let alone used it.
