Kuwait added to the list of countries trying to control BlackBerry data

By: Don Lynn | Mobile Devices | Posted: Aug 10, 2010 @ 0:14 CDT

BlackBerry is taking quite a beating in a few countries in the Middle East area, with the UAE, India, and Saudi Arabia threatening to ban BlackBerry messaging altogether unless they find a way to allow local servers to filter internet traffic. Kuwait has jumped into the fight as well, requesting RIM to deal with "moral and security concerns" by blocking pornographic sites.

While Saudi carriers are still testing their servers for the three major carriers to beat the 48 hour deadline imposed yesterday, more counties like Indonesia may jump on this wagon as well to track customer data usage. RIM has stayed fairly hush-hush throughout the whole ordeal, calling discussions "confidential."

HTC's Schubert, their first Windows Phone 7 handset, ready for launch day

By: Don Lynn | Mobile Devices | Posted: Aug 10, 2010 @ 0:14 CDT

More video leaks? You got it! Another phone has popped up in the wild, claiming to be the first HTC handset running Windows Phone 7. It's called the "Schubert" at this point, and has an aluminum body and touch sensitive buttons at the bottom of the device.

According to multiple sources, the phone is reported to be ready to go when Windows Phone 7 launches later this year, although other details are pretty sketchy at this point. It has the classic HTC look, and hopefully it runs as sweetly with Windows Phone 7 as HTC phones run with Android.

HTC Desire HD now leaked in video

By: Don Lynn | Mobile Devices | Posted: Aug 9, 2010 @ 19:55 CDT

While many of us in the U.S. are still waiting for the HTC Desire to hit stores, this phone is old hat to folks in areas like the U.K. But the new and improved Desire HD, also tabbed the HTC Ace, has started to leak and now there's even a slick little video showing off its sleek look.

We don't get a look at it in action, but the deal LED flash camera, bottom mounted 3.5mm jack, and pieced together rubberized back make this one attractive device. The 4.3" screen device seems to combine the best of the EVO and the original Desire, making it a real sweet option when it hits streets.

Rock 'Em Sock 'Em robots have been around since I was a little kid. My brother and I used to play them a lot and frequently you never knew who won because the heads would just pop up of their own accord.
