Asus whips out Eee 1201K packing AMD Geode NX1750 power

Asus has more netbooks that just about any other company. The firm has a netbook for every need or want that a consumer could have and it's hard to tell many of them apart. Asus has added a new Eee to its line today called the Eee 1201K.

This little netbook is notable for two big reasons. First, it has a 12.1-inch screen making it much larger than the typical Eee. The second thing is that the machine has an AMD Geode NX1750 CPU. That 12.1-inch screen has a resolution of 1366 x 768.

Trendnet TEW-691GR 450Mbps router ships

Back in March I talked a bit about the new Trendnet 450Mbps router that had just been unveiled. The thing is one of the fastest routers on the market and Trendnet has now announced that the device is ready to ship.

In case you forgot, the router has three external antennas that use 2.4GHz spectrum. It can send three spatial streams per antenna to get the 450Mbps of theoretical bandwidth. The antenna tech also boosts coverage and signal strength.

OCZ release second-gen StealthXStream PSU family

OCZ has re-worked its previous StealthXStream line-up of power supplies and brought the StealthXStream 2 series to market as of this week.

The new series comprises 400W, 500W, 600W and 700W models, of which are 80Plus certified and compliant with ATX12V v2.2 and EPS12V standards. These are non-modular power supplies aimed at the home user, gamer and also quite capable for the majority of enthusiast PCs.

Lite-On shipping fastest Blu-ray writer to Euro market

Europe will soon be getting Lite-On's iHBS212 internal Blu-Ray writer which can burn to BD-R discs at the fastest possible rate to date; 12x speed.

The new drive uses the SATA interface along with an 8MB buffer, as well as featuring LightScribe technology for use with supporting discs.

Addonics intro new CFast cards + SATA adapters

Storage peripherals maker Addonics has just dished up a couple new CFast memory cards and some adapters that give PC users the ability to connect the new cards via a SATA port for some extra solid state storage, giving read and write rates of up to 100MB/sec and 40MB/sec, respectively.

The two new CFast cards use MLC NAND Flash and are CF Type 1 compliant. The 8GB one will set you back $98.40 and the 32GB one $189.60.

There are three adapters which differ for the purposes of different mountings. One is designed to be an internal bridge that will work either inside notebooks or desktops, while the other two differ in that one is designed to take up a PCI slot and one fitting into a 3.5-inch drive bay.

Toshiba releases super fast 10k RPM 2.5-inch enterprise HDDs

Toshiba has begun shipping a new Enterprise level series of 2.5-inch hard drives dubbed MBF which include the largest capacity SFF Enterprise HDD offerings available on the market at this time.

Being enterprise level, the MBF series use the SAS 6Gbps interface and spin at a rate of 10,025RPM. They carry a 16MB buffer and can be purchased in capacities of 300, 450 and 600GB.

COMPUTEX Taipei 2010 - With so many companies products and showcases to cover at this year's Computex, getting a good scoop on every one of them was near impossible in the event's 4 day timeframe.

We were unable to spend much time at the Noctua booth, but that doesn't mean they didn't have anything interesting on display. The company is reknowned for making top quality heatsinks that rival the best of the best and they had some real nice looking next-gen products on display that we can all look forward to.

Download of the Day: Process Explorer 12.04

Our Download of the Day today is Process Explorer 12.04.

Process Explorer shows you information about which handles and DLLs processes have opened or loaded.

The Process Explorer display consists of two sub-windows. The top window always shows a list of the currently active processes, including the names of their owning accounts, whereas the information displayed in the bottom window depends on the mode that Process Explorer is in: if it is in handle mode you'll see the handles that the process selected in the top window has opened; if Process Explorer is in DLL mode you'll see the DLLs and memory-mapped files that the process has loaded. Process Explorer also has a powerful search capability that will quickly show you which processes have particular handles opened or DLLs loaded.

The unique capabilities of Process Explorer make it useful for tracking down DLL-version problems or handle leaks, and provide insight into the way Windows and applications work.
