XFX Heated Up - Overclocking the 512MB 7800GTX

Final Thoughts

Right now, this is the ultimate graphics card solution for anyone in SLI or not - the 512MB version of the 7800GTX is an absolute power house. The numbers do truly speak for themselves here - we find ourselves breaking over 10,000 under 3DMarks05 on a default run and we also see an average of over 100FPS when running Doom 3 @ 1600 x 1200 with 4xAA and 8xAF enabled.

XFX GeForce 7800 GTX, (256 MB) Graphic Card

This is more than extra memory; it is more core and memory speed, which is what we want. The worst thing is - for all of those people who put their hard earned cash into a 7800GTX 256MB thinking that the 512MB model wasn't going to be much more then a memory increase will really find themselves being kicked while their down on the ground.

If the Radeon X1800XT had a chance again the flagship GeForce line before, it doesn't now, with what nVidia have bought to the table. This looks like it might be the end of the current generation line up unless ATI feel like wasting time on releasing a Platinum Edition of the X1800XT but we think it's best they just accept that nVidia have it this time around and continue to work hard on the next generation.

The GeForce 7800GTX 512MB even just by itself is going to offer you an incredible gaming experience and the XFX package of the product is quite good offering you all that you will need for a kick-ass gaming experience.
