The Package

As always, we have the very sexy ATI Ruby character on the front of the GeCube box. The front of the box also shows us that this is an X1800XT with 512MB of DDR3 memory. We also see that it supports Shader Model 3.0, HDTV, Dual DVI, AVIVO and has got a copy of Delta Force Xtreme with it. It is nice to see something other then Counter Strike: Condition Zero come with a GeCube graphics card considering with this piece you would be able to run it completely maxed out without the game breaking a sweat.



Turning the package over we have our standard GeCube layout, an extended feature list on the left side, the right side shows us the technical specifications in a host of languages, the middle has a picture of what the connectors can do and finally a few of the many awards GeCube have won including an Editors Choice from yours truly.



Opening up the box and moving the card aside for the moment we have got a few handy cables - first off we have got two DVI to VGA adapters which is nice as its not uncommon for a lot of cards to only have one when they offer Dual DVI, Component Out cable for those HDTV users, PCI Express power connector, S-Video cable, RCA cable and finally a VIVO cable for people wanting to make some backups of those old VHS tapes or so on.



With the cables out we move to the very boring but very expected user manual which is black and white, says X1800 series on the front and gives us a whole lot of information none of us can be bothered reading.



Finally we move onto the CD collection, which in this case consists of four CDs. We have a copy of PowerDVD, driver CD, PowerDirector 2.5 and a new game to play with, Delta Force Xtreme. While we haven’t fired up the latest Delta Force game the others are usually a bit of fun so we don’t have any doubt that you will find yourself installing it to see what’s it is all about.
