Final Thoughts

It's clear to see that DDR and DDR-2 are definitely different memory styles, each benefiting different platforms. Intel with its more "Bandwidth is better than latencies" approach to Netburst makes better use of DDR-2, as the higher latencies don't bother the setup as much.

On the other hand, AMD64's on-die memory controller craves lower latencies, as memory module speeds above 400MHz are not guaranteed. What this means to the end user is simply this, if you get DDR memory above 400MHz don't expect a stock AMD64 to be able to run the RAM at its full potential. You are going to have to overclock your system in order to gain the benefits which are dependent on your CPU and motherboard.

OCZ has managed to provide perfectly for both platforms with high speed DDR-2 for the Pentium 4 market, and low latency, high speed DDR for the AMD64. The modules work well, no stability issues were noticed, the extra voltage is handy for overclocking and as always the OCZ modules are stylish and attractive in appearance.

No matter which way you are planning to go, OCZ has the memory for you but for premium modules of this kind, you'll need to spend a bit more cash.
