Introduction

BYTECC... Is this a company you've heard of before? If you keep up with our reviews, you'll remember a piece we did not long ago of the LanDisk external network drive device. Besides that, we're looking at a relatively new company that specializes in USB devices created for public consumption.

Today's product review will be an external hard drive enclosure with a twist. Yes it uses a standard 3.5” drive and has a USB 2.0 interface, but the twist comes from its specialized purpose. As the name implies, it is designed to be used as a system backup tool; something that could come in very handy for those of us who regularly forget to back up our vital data.

So kick the heels up for a bit and we’ll take a closer look at this new innovation from BYTECC and see if it lives up to the “Star” moniker in its name.
