The Bottom Line

Tesoro starts off its new line of gaming chairs with a bang in the Zone Balance, with a great price, slick looks and of course - comfort.

Introduction, Availability & Price

Tesoro isn't a stranger to the game peripheral market, but there has been a slight change of direction with the company now making gaming chairs, starting with the Zone Balance gaming chair.

The company has been steadily releasing more gaming products, but the Zone Balance gaming chair shift is a good one, with the market bursting with millions of gamers.

Now that we have a gaming chair market beginning to be established, Tesoro is entering it at a great time, with a great product in the Zone Balance gaming chair.

You can grab the Tesoro Zone Balance gaming chair for $242 from Amazon (at the time of writing).

Taking a Look Around

Tesoro has built a great looking chair with the Zone Balance. It features a menacing design streak that feels like it deserves a place in front of my gaming PC. The black and white styling works well, with the digital checkerboard style print on the chair being a nice touch.

Tesoro created a precision designed steel frame that is built for 'long-term, rigorous use' - so, don't be shy in the Zone Balance, move around and get angry because you lost your last round of Overwatch; it won't break apart easily.

With a five-star steel base and support for up to 260lbs (120kg), you're in for a smooth glide across any surface with the custom racing caster wheels that have been coated with PU.

The company has used a premium cold core foam that is designed with their slick race car seat design, and it has spill resistance. So, there's no need to worry about spilling a drink on the Zone Balance.

Relaxing is part of an investment into a gaming chair, especially when you can literally kick back your legs and adjust the chair vertically. There's a sizeable backrest with full spinal column support, so you'll be comfortable laying back on the chair watching Netflix.

Butt, What's It Like to Sit On?

This is the 'hard' part of reviewing a gaming chair, actually sitting down for many hours - not just a few, and testing it out. I sat on the Tesoro Zero Balance chair for over 100 hours for the review, in every position you can imagine.

Sitting directly at my desk on a slight decline, and the Zero Balance is comfortable - slightly more back for those all-night gaming sessions, of which I played plenty of Overwatch and Resident Evil 7 - again, comfortable.

It was only after 2-3 hours of solid sitting that I would get uncomfortable, but once I walked around for a little while - which you should be doing anyway, I was fine again.

Kicking up my legs for some episodes of The OA on Netflix, and I was still comfortable. The adjustment on the Zero Balance is great, as you can adjust to whichever position you want, or need at the time.

Final Thoughts

Tesoro started out with gaming peripherals, but now they're delivering gaming chairs to the world, and they've debuted in a big way with Zone Balance - a great gaming chair for the money, that is super comfortable for those all-night gaming sessions.

Tesoro Zone Balance Gaming Chair Review 13

I sat in the Zone Balance for 6-8 hours every day, five days a week, for a month or so. This gives me a good understanding of how the chair feels for long-term, consistent use - doing everything from sitting here and writing content, to gaming sessions.

I didn't find myself adjusting the angles of the chair too much, but it was easy enough to customize the Zone Balance when I needed to. I found a good position to sit in, and I have a very deep desk - so I sit tightly up close to my desk, and the Zone Balance gaming chair sits perfectly close to the table with the armrests lowered to my particular height.

Tesoro Zone Balance Gaming Chair Review 14

Tesoro has entered the gaming chair market with a great first product in the Zone Balance gaming chair, and thanks to its sub-$250 price, it's not out of the range of mainstream gamers. Sure, a $250 investment isn't cheap, but there are $500+ chairs out there. Tesoro has a sub-$250 chair that is comfortable, durable, and it looks great.

An investment into a gaming chair is a good idea for posture and comfort for hours of gaming, and gamers aren't paying hundreds of dollars more on looks over comfort with the Zone Balance. Tesoro has priced the Zone Balance at exactly where I think it should be priced, and this will help with getting new customers into the market.

If you're in the market for a new gaming chair and don't want to spend over $300 on one, you need to check out the Tesoro Zone Balance gaming chair - it could well be the right fit for you.
