BFG's Retail Package

BFG Tech has put together a huge box - it feels like the DFI Lanparty box for graphics cards. The front of the box gives us all the information that we need in regards to the 7800 GTX - PCI Express, 256MB DDR3, SLI Ready, Dual DVI, HDTV, VIVO along with what is included in the package. We will have a closer look at that in just a second.

As you would expect the back of the box goes into even more details in regards to what the 7800 GTX can do. As well as this we have a spiel about BFG Tech and how they stand out from other companies along with a small blurb on SLI and how it works along with how much faster the GeForce line up compares against your standard 915G integrated graphics - which is of course a hell of a difference.

Undressing the box of the 7800 GTX to get inside we come to find a good collection of extras. We aren't talking about a DVD with 200 demo games on it you will never play or 5 full version games from 1985 including Frogger, we are talking about some stuff that we can actually use.

Opening the box we find to our left a T-Shirt, which is something that we haven't seen before in a bundle along with some teflon pads which go on the bottom of your mouse to increase the smoothness of your mouse. As someone who has been using these for a long time, they are great if you use your mouse for gaming or just general desktop work. We also get two little BFG Tech stickers to put on your case to show just how proud you are of what you have in your system.

Along with this we also have GameDrive 9.0 which works similar to Alcohol 120% (a virtual CD-ROM drive). It allows you to create an image of your games to your computer and when you play you don't have to keep inserting new CDs; it also gets the added advantage that you can keep your originals in pristine condition and don't have to worry about them being scratched.

Other software included in the package is System Mechanics Pro 5, Spy Sweeper, Windows Washer, Desktop Firewall, Ulead Video Studio 9SE along with the BFG Tech CD which has drivers, install manual, nVDVD and some demos. With the CDs out the way we also have a few little bits and pieces advertising BFG's new gaming website BFG Gaming, an explanation on the HDTV out cable, quick install guide and a little piece regarding SLI what it does and how it can benefit you.

Cable wise, we have our PCI Express power connector, HDTV out cable, VIVO cable and two DVI to VGA connectors thanks to the implementation of Dual DVI on the 7800 GTX line up.

How much does it cost?
