The Components

Asetek offer a base Water Chill Kit which comes with everything that you need to cool your processor only. Fortunately if you want to cool more then your processor it’s just a simple task of adding the other blocks in. The base kits main components are:

Water Chill CPU Cooler
Radiator (120x120mm)
1 X 120mm Fan
Pump System

As well as these components you receive a number of little extras needed to get the system up and running, such as: manuals, tubing, mounting screws and thermal paste. While this is the basic kit it is extremely healthy and excellent for someone who wants to look at simply overclocking their processor.

We didn’t want to look at the base kit, we wanted to see the true potential of the Water Chill so for that reason our package is slightly different from the base kit, apart from the radiator the package doesn’t change, you just receive more.

- The Radiator

The Radiator we have with us here today is a 360x120mm unit which comes with a total of three 120mm fans. The reason for the bigger radiator is because we are going to be cooling more components which are going to heat the water up more and this in turn of course means we need a bigger radiator so we can keep the water temperature similar to a smaller radiator cooling less components.

- Pump System

The Water Chill uses a Hydor L30 pump which is capable of pushing out 1400 Liters of water per hour. The pump system also comes with a reservoir which makes this water cooling setup an “open circuit” set up. One of the best features of an open circuit setup is that it is easier to setup and we will look at how in just a few moments.

The reservoir sits on the little stand that comes with the kit which you can see in the picture below.

Let’s have a look at the blocks that are provided before we get into the setup of the WaterChill system.
