Shuttle SB77G5 XPC - Socket 775 through Intel Canterwood - Benchmarks - Quake 3 Arena

We've got yet another Shuttle small form factor system under the spotlight today, this time it's the SB77G5 XPC. It makes use of the Intel Canterwood chipset supporting AGP and DDR memory but supports the newer Socket 775 Intel Pentium 4 processors. Today we take a look at the XPC and what has changed (if any) as well as see what type of overclocking performance we can get from the unit.

Quake 3 Arena is a real-world OpenGL benchmark that we have been using here at TweakTown for quite a while now because it has proven itself to be one of the best gaming benchmarks around to compare a wide range of different products. Quake 3 Arena is getting very old, but is still one of the best ways of testing video and PC systems for any instability and best performance hence the reason we are still using it today.

Here we can see at the lower resolution Quake 3 gets a slight increase in performance although it's not something you would notice. Moving to the higher resolutions the game relies on the graphics card more.
