TweakTown Rating: 9.5%Manufacturer: ASUS

Test System Setup

Processor: Intel Pentium 4 3.46GHz (1066MHz FSB) (Supplied by Spectrum Communications)

Memory: 2x 512MB DDR2-533 Micron

Hard Disk: 2x Maxtor Maxline III 250GB RAID (RAID 0 on ICH5R and ICH6R)

Graphics Card: nVidia GeForce 6600GT

Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP SP2

Drivers: DX9c, nVidia

As far as comparison goes, we'll be comparing the ASUS P5AD2-E Premium against the Intel I925XE reference board. We've enabled a technology from ASUS called "Hyper Path" which is said to shorten latency time between the CPU and memory bus and enhance performance without sacrificing stability.

If you wish to enable "Hyper Path" acceleration, do the following:

1) Enter BIOS setup utility

2) Select "Advanced" menu

3) Select "Chipset" configuration

4) Enabled Memory Acceleration Mode

5) Your system is now Hyper Path ready

SiSoft Sandra (System ANalyser, Diagnostic and Reporting Assistant) is a synthetic Windows benchmark that features different tests used to evaluate different PC subsystems.

With Hyper Path enabled, ASUS is able to gain a lead over the Intel Reference board.
