Unreal Tournament 2004

Unreal Tournament 2004 is the latest installment to the Unreal Tournament series. The full version of the game is based on DX9 and has faced quite a big make over and is a lot more intensive then its predecessor.

So you like UT2K4? Well you're gonna LOVE this processor then. When we tested out the X800 board we only managed to get about a 10% performance boost, but the addition of the Athlon FX shows very favorable frame rate boosts over the entire resolution playing field.

Starting at 1024 and working up we received 80%, 66% and 72% increases in frame rates. If you'll recall, I set ALL visuals to their very highest and use a demo map that has a huge amount of action. When testing, everything flowed as smooth as silk with no slow spots where the action seemed to bump along. This is a huge improvement over the Athlon XP, even though it isn't a weak system. Very nice!
