ABIT VT7 Motherboard - VIA PT880 Done Right - Benchmarks - Test System Setup and SiSoft Sandra 2004

We have a review of the ABIT VT7 motherboard today which is based on VIA's PT880 chipset for Pentium 4. We compare against motherboards from MSI and Gigabyte which are also based on the same Dual Channel chipset. The VT7 is ABIT's answer to budget yet overclockable computing with the VIA chipset.

Hard Disk: Western Digital 120GB 7200RPM PATA (Supplied by Plus Corporation)

 

Graphics Card: nVidia GeForce FX 5950 Ultra reference

 

Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP1

 

Drivers: nVidia Forceware 56.64 and VIA Hyperion 4.51

 

SiSoft Sandra 2004

 

SiSoft Sandra (the System ANalyser, Diagnostic and Reporting Assistant) 2004 is a synthetic windows benchmark that features different tests used to evaluate different PC subsystems

 

 

 

 

Here we see the ABIT VT7 killing off the MSI and Gigabyte PT880 motherboards with an improved memory controller setup.
