Multimedia Command Center

The Multimedia Command Center is what powers everything that the AIW series of cards offer you. While the AIW doesn't offer a lot more over a separate TV Tuner card, the fact that you can get all the same features in the one card is excellent. With the TV Tuner you can get all your free to air and PAY TV channels and so on without any trouble - All you need to do is install the Multimedia Command Center along with the latest ATI Catalyst drivers, plug in your TV reception cable and you are on your way to watching TV through your PC.

Within the same software you can also get the FM Tuner pumping away with the included FM Antenna which is seen in the picture below.

The Multimedia Center software also gives you a lot of other cool features, including:

FM ON DEMAND: With FM on demand you can start, pause and rewind on the fly. One of the best features of FM on demand is that you can easily start recording straight to your hard drive in MP3 format.

HDTV-Ready: Thanks to the new VGA HDTV adapter from ATI you can now enjoy High Definition TV on a range of ATI graphics cards.

The adapter offers support for all HDTV formats including 480i, 480p, 720p and 1080i. All you need to do is plug the affordable HDTV adapter into the VGA 2 adapter on the six in one adapter which we talked about on the previous page.

EASYSHARE: Easyshare gives you the ability to share the features of the AIW cards across networked computers. You can easily setup recording from another computer on your LAN or watch TV on your own computer.

The Multimedia Command Center from ATI is excellent and while it is still a bit buggy at times it has a huge amount of potential.

Now let's have a look at how the GeCube 9600 XT AIW goes when we pit it up against some of the competition in our usual array of graphics benchmarks.
