Sapphire doubles the memory on the Radeon HD 7790 to 2GB and we find out if it makes any difference in our gaming tests.

High Quality AA and AF

While we test all our games with maximum in-game settings, turning on Anti-Aliasing (AA) and Antistrophic Filtering (AF) helps take the intensity of our testing to another level.

Here we see video cards go from playable FPS to an unplayable FPS and the real power houses continue to help break that 60 FPS mark we always aim for to provide a smooth gaming experience.

Turning on AA and AF in Far Cry 2 shows again the two HD 7790's perform almost identical to each other with no change being seen. Stop the pain already!

You can see under Sleeping Dogs and Metro 2033 the gains that the 2GB model offer at the highest resolutions are massive. Clearly these are settings that's maxing out the memory on the card.

Nonetheless, though, the performance is still just way too low for a good gaming experience.
