We’ve talked recently how important the power supply has become when building that perfect power rig, but when it comes right down to the choices, well, it can be more than just a little daunting. There are a huge number of players in this market nowadays, so it becomes even more critical than ever to make sure that we make an informed decision.

Enter Allied, an older name that many folks in the States might not be familiar with. This company is affiliated with Foxconn, a maker of computer enclosures. They have also been making power supplies for other countries for several years.

So we bring to the table a 500 watt PSU that has a few interesting features and is reportedly both quiet and cool. So sit back and check out the results as we dig a bit deeper into this power supply and determine if it has what it takes to earn a spot within your own prized system!
