Today’s optical read/write technologies are advancing at a phenomenal rate and we all want fast components in out PC’s – as far as burners go, we can, and at an affordable price.
One of the most overlooked areas is the CD-RW units. It wasn’t that long ago that a 6x write unit was super fast, and equally super expensive. I remember paying $400 for a 6x write unit when they first came out, and that was only about four years ago. In computer time this is a millennium in technology, in real time it’s a very shot time indeed. Today you can pick yourself up a 48x CD-RW drive for around $100 US dollars.
Today we are going to have a look a relatively new company to the CD-RW market called Optorite, who are a totally new company to us. Until this review, we didn’t know they even made CD-RW drives.
So come along with us as we take a look at the Optorite 48x 16x 48x IDE CD-RW drive.
