Geil DDR-433 Platinum Memory Review

Author: Cameron Johnson SUMMARY: DDR-400 is still yet to be approved as an official industry standard by JEDEC. This hasn't stopped several companies releasing DDR-400 memory, and even faster. Geil is one such company who accelerated in this area who went ahead and released their DDR-433 solution. Cameron “Sov” Johnson took time to put the memory through our usual torture tests to see how it stood up to the challenge with the most aggressive timings we could possible throw at it.

SiSoft Sandra 2002 SP1

SiSoft Sandra (the System ANalyser, Diagnostic and Reporting Assistant) 2002 is a synthetic Windows benchmark that features different tests used to evaluate different PC subsystems. We used this to test CPU Raw Performance, Multimedia Instruction Set and Memory Bandwidth Performance. While they are all synthetic results, they do give us a general idea of what is happening and where a component’s strengths and weaknesses are.

Geil's DDR-433 is able to top the entire line in all three speeds (DDR-333, 400 and 433).
