The Kingmax PC150 is a derivative of its earlier PC133 modules. The new 150Mhz model uses the same style TinyBGA packaging. TinyBGA is a new process of packaging the transistors into the actual memory chip so that the chip itself comes out a lot smaller than normal, this new packaging helps to reduce energy consumption within the PC as the TinyBGA (Tiny Ball Grid Array) requires a lot less power and saving on cost to produce as it uses far less PCB material than any other RAM module to date.
From the picture above we can see the entire DIMM, measuring only 1 inch high this baby can fit into just about any tight spot, good for those motherboards that have the DIMM slots way to close to the HDD bay. Just above, we can see a picture of the TinyBGA chips used on the Kingmax module, these chips are made in a fabrication plant in Taiwan called Kingpack, which do all the actual work on the chips themselves. These fully ready chips are then tested for speed and then sent to Kingmax construction plant where each chip is placed on a PCB and sold off as the memory that you have in your systems today. The one major feature that sets this RAM above the rest is that this memory is true PC150 memory. These chips have been designed to run constantly at 150Mhz and aren’t overclocked 133Mhz chips like other companies use.

As many people know, CAS 2 is a faster memory timing and would have been nicer to see the Kingmax memory be CAS2 at PC150Mhz. While it is specified at CAS3 we were able to run it as CAS2 at 133 and 150Mhz on both Intel based and AMD Based systems. This is a major bonus for you overclockers out there, she does indeed do CAS2.
