The Core i7 965 EE processor comes overclocked to 3.6, up from 3.2 which equates to a 13% overclock. Intel finally has an answer to AMD's huge memory bandwidth performance. Here we see that the Core i7 is pushing big memory bandwidth numbers.
Fast, easy to use PC speed testing and benchmarking. PassMark PerformanceTest allows you to objectively benchmark a PC using a variety of different speed tests and compare the results to other computers.
The CPU tests cover mathematical operations, compression, encryption, SSE, 3DNow! instructions and more.
The Core 2 Quad system I tested the other day scored a 600 in Integer Math, which wasn't bad. The Core i7 overclocked to 3.6 scores just a little under 2,600.
ScienceMark 2.0 is a mathematical program designed to stress the memory subsystems of both desktop/workstation and server environments to determine the read/write latency as well as the overall memory bandwidth available between the CPU and the memory controller.
ScienceMark 2 didn't care too much for the Core i7 and the Stream test would not complete. I really hope someone updates the code soon as I have always loved using this benchmark to test processor performance.
